Sing Solstice!
Gather with us this darkest night of the year to celebrate nature’s New Year with Terry Leonino & Greg Artzner (Magpie), Kim Harris and special guest, Abenaki storyteller Joe Bruchac, joined via video by Reggie Harris & Matt Watroba, all celebrating nature’s Season of Light, heralding the gradual lengthening of days to come, taking us to Spring and the return to light: fertility, new beginnings, warmth.
This wonderful ensemble brings a diverse array of stunning harmonies & instrumentals, alternately powerful, touching, funny & charming. It’s a time when the warmth of camaraderie, harmony and fellowship create a circle of friends to include performers and audience alike for a reminder that the darkest days will give way to light.
From ancient times to the present, Winter Solstice has inspired such Midwinter celebrations as Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hannukah, Yule and more in cultures around the world.
