As the spirits prepare to roam, The Eighth Step presents Professor Erastus Betterof Underhill and his WHISPERING BONES crawling out of the grave with a new mix of comic, creepy and thought-provoking ghost stories 
 
Otherworldly storytellers Patrick Kincaid, Barbara Chepaitis, Lale Davidson, Kelvin Keraga and Siri 
 
Allison tell stories of haunted rooms, bodyless dogs and ghostly relatives. Dr Betterov-Underhill 
 
(a.k.a. Kelvin Keraga) will be on hand to promote his fine line of Dead People Products, including his 
 
Creme de Menthe Embalming Fluid., “The taste that stays with you forever, and for quite a while after 
 
that.”

There is a deep magic in ghost stories, a spell that brews in our wonderfully irrational passion for life! We transcend the expectations of our hearts and minds: we relish fear, terror, surprise. Something is out there and instead of turning away we embrace our mortality – dance in the graveyard, dress up in shadows, and sometimes laugh in the darkness.

Ghost stories come in many varieties – it’s a fascinating genre, from campfire stories to gothic creepers to great works of literature. Often the stories are not so much about the shosts but about the people who encounter them: what happens when we experience something beyond our understanding?  How do we deal with it? What do the ghosts want from us? Blood? Forgiveness? How do we respond to something beyond our control stapping into our lives?

Step with us across the line between life and death, following characters caught in situations that evoke their – and our – deepest emotions!
